Kuanita, Hello there! Remember me, Holly Tomczak, from the VSU art department? How are you!!! I saw your article in the Alumni newsletter and was so excited to see a familiar face! Congratulations on your accomplishments, you look great. I graduated VSU in Spring '98 and moved back down to Ft. Lauderdale, FL working at a fabric company in the design department. I design fabrics for high-end hotels worldwide and handle the entire Chicago and Orlando area as well as cruise ships and Disney. I am getting married March 9, 2001 to the same guy I was dating throughout college. I still talk to Krista Mitchell and Amanda Mitchell and Leigh Fischer on occassion (through e-mail). I have not been back to VSU since Aug. 1999 when my brother graduated, and unfortunately did not see anybody from the art dept. Well, I was so happy to see you in the newsletter and hope you are doing great! Keep up the good artwork! Maybe someday I'll see you in the NY Metropolitan Museum of Art! Good luck! Holly

Hi Cuz, Its great to hear that someone else in the family is a crazy as me, lol. I loved your work, I wish I had the connection to history that you seem to have. I have already forwarded your web site to the owner of my gallery. For his imput. I will write you more very soon, lets please stay in touch. This is not one of those thank you and Ill forget letters. We are family and should support each other. I show alot in and around new York. Cavin-Morris is one of the best galleries in the land. Have you heard anything about self taught art. I will be sending you some information about it. You attended school so It kind of lets you out of that marketing title. But their is a enormous market for this time of work partially in the south. Archer Locke in Atlanta Georgia is a big gallery. I have shown there, if you are in atlanta, drop my name and my galleries, I was just with the owner back in January. anyway, I am going to send you another letter with additional links. I Think you will find the reading very informative. Your work is very moving and I can wait to see more of it. ok bye for now, lets stay in touch and don't feel as though you are bugging me. I would definitely like to help you expose people to the gift that God has given you. I believe that you can also help me to reach the youth for Christ. I have a ministry concept that involve taking the church to the people. It is affectionately known as M.E.R.C.Y. which stands for Mobolized Evangelical Revival Concerning Youth. I believe that we have to deploy new means of reaching our young people and even our older individuals as we expose them to other avenues of praise. Regarding the Randolph-Clay Alumni reunion, help spread the word and we can come up with a good day and we'll move from there. I would like to consider doing something before it gets cold or otherwise plan it for the spring which would give more time. In fact that may actually be the ticket since this year marks the 20th year since Randolph and Clay county first came together. It would be fitting that we capture the moment artisticly and poeticly for the venue. Randolph-Clay Turns 20 Celebration - Mention it to the superintendant and I will see if I can get a electronic committee of volunteers to begin working on certain aspect of the planning. I have some fundraising opportunities that will help reduce the cost of any Alumni celebration/career day. Be blessed and I do look forward to seeing you face to face on day soon. Keep up the walk of faith - anointed highly favored woman of God in due season you shall reap if you faint not.

Hi there! I'm a young artist like yourself. However, I'm a little younger! =) Anyway, I just checked out your site, and may I say, its great! Your art work is just beautiful! Seeing your art makes me want to get back on the canvas! =) I am also in Georgia! I'm in Duluth up north! How are things down south? =) I just love your paintings because they depict the 'ol South! I think southern black history is so facinating! I wish I had a history as interesting! Although I am young, I have had my share of rejection too! I only have one year of high school left. And would you believe it, they did not allow me to take art at all in my four years! This is one of the reasons why I don't have as much art as I would like to! But no matter! I've made the brave decision to continue on my own, and paint or draw whenever I can! I see this rejection more as an inspiration really! I feel that I can prove that I am an artist! I don't need a high school course to prove it! Now, when I'm famous and my school tries to get some credit, I can tell everyone that they had nothing to do with it! I did it all by myself (just like a little kid!)! Anyway, just thought I would drop you a line to give you my opinion! =) Keep up the great work! Come see my site sometime! =) ~*Veronica*~ Skat Kat http://skatkatart.homestead.com

I think you made the right choice of sticking with black subjects. I can't wait to see your work spotlighted at the Terrell County Public Library. I am also interested in local black history

I found your web site by way of your entry in Ed Hamilton's guest book. Good luck and don't let the "opposition" get you down. The church diorama was the only page I could access beyond your home page. I like your use of art work to tell a story.
